The Greatest Work in Progress
Self Sabotage and Self Destruct
There are so many times as a Minister that I hear or even witness people creating situations that put them back into chaos. In other words, they slide back to old patterns or behavior that got them to where they were in the first place.
What do I mean by that?
For some people who have had lived in chaos, drama and not very good living standards have really worked hard to get where they are in life. It did not come easy. Having said this, it is what was and is familiar to that person.
So as the person becomes financially stable, life is going good and balanced, they create a situation or throw a monkey wrench into something that is good and they tend to slide back into the chaos they have just worked so hard to get out of.
As I have learned in my Pastoral classes and Ministry work, this is not always conscious to the experiencer. To some it is and to most it is not.
Another person may not have the best self worth or self esteem and they will create the same scenario. They may sabotage so many good things that are happening for them.
I have actually heard some people I have talked to feel they are not worthy of anything. Therefore it is reflected in their way of life.
There are also medical, emotional, lifestyle and many other variables that may factor into this scenario. This is where having a good counselor that you trust is so important. This also includes spirituality. We are after all Spiritual Beings having human experiences.
There are people on a daily basis that sabotage their weight loss programs. You also see it with folks trying to manage money. They keep spending and not saving. I could share so many more of these types of stories.
I have found once the experiencer realizes what they are doing, then they can begin to work on it.
If you find you are experiencing these patterns or cycles of self sabotage, please know there is HOPE and HELP. It is okay to ask for help.
